How to Sell your Textbooks on the Internet

February 12, 2012 – If you need to earn cash after or during college, rather than letting your own books collect dust on your shelves, sell them to make money. This is one of the best ways to make money as a college student. The cost of college textbooks can make attending college that much more costly. Cut your university or college expenses by selling your textbooks.

Selling Textbooks

Sell your books working with any of the following selections. Are there any classmates or roommates you have who are taking that class next semester or soon in the future? You make additional cash and they get a discount. You may sell your books to the bookstore, but they don’t give a good deal because they are trying to generate a profit.

Amazon.com or Half.com

Internet sites like Amazon or Half.com are very simple places to sell your old books. Use the search box on one of the websites to locate the book. Search for the title or ISBN. Double check that the edition from the book is right. There must be a link that says “sell yours here”, check to the link and do what it says.

Book Specifics

Pick the right condition of your copy. Write the edition and discs included within the comment box together with what sort of markings are inside the book (highlighting, underlining, clean, etc.). Buyers like to understand exactly what they’re getting, even when it’s more expensive. Invest an added minute or two and you may charge a little extra.

Pricing

Pricing could be tricky. Do not make it the lowest cost unless it makes sense. As an example, if the lowest cost is in poor condition with lots of markings, and your book looks brand new, you should ask for far more cash. When you want the money quick just to get rid of your books, set the value lower for rapid selling.

Timing

Sell the fall semester books when the semester is finished. If it is the spring, wait a few months. If you want to earn more, be careful about when you sell it. Deciding upon the best time is critical.

Shipping

Use a bubble envelope or wrap it securely inside a well-fitting box before shipping. Medial mail could be the least expensive method and is for books as well as other media. Do not forget to ask for feedback from your shoppers.
